Abstract: In 2020 and 2021, both in the USA and in Latin America, presidential (USA, Portugal, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, Nicaragua, Chile and Honduras), legislative (Peru, Venezuela, El Salvador, Mexico and Argentina) and regional (Spain) or sub-state elections will be held in several Latin American countries, Portugal, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, Nicaragua, Chile and Honduras), legislative (Peru, Venezuela, El Salvador, Mexico or Argentina), as well as regional (Spain) or sub-state elections in several Latin American countries.

This monograph addresses issues such as political communication of electoral campaigns (political, media and public agenda), electoral participation, components and reasons for voting, the "affective or emotional turn", electoral preferences, leadership or other aspects such as political participation in social networks.
