Hermeneutical and methodological considerations for the elaboration of printed educational materials in distance learning studies

Abstract

Although Information and communications technology(ICT) have become a mainstay of education in general and mainly in the teaching-learning process of distance education , most institutions offering this type of study still use printed material as the basic means of didactic communication between teachers and students . This article describes the case of open and distance system of the Universidad Technical ¨Particular de Loja, institution which uses one didactic guide for each educational component in each of the majors offered by it. This didactic guide develops elements of planning, organization and guidance for the student’s work in order to foresee possible difficulties that may arise in addressing the basic text during the learning process.
