Abstract
Saramago en la novela "El Ensayo sobre la Lucidez", comparte una hermosa narración que desnuda el enorme divorcio de una determinada institucionalidad gubernamental con los derechos y la legitimidad ciudadanos. Algo similar se constató con la reciente crisis política de abril. El país fue testigo de actos fuera de la constitución y la Ley que, a la postre, provocaron las heroicas y ejemplares movilizaciones del pueblo de Quito y el inevitable final de la dictadura implantada por Lucio Gutiérrez. Evidentemente, que ese período de crisis política no podía obviarse dentro del análisis académico.
