Abstract
Las tecnologías emergentes, sobre todo, los desarrollos tecnológicos derivados de la expansiónde Internet son parte de los grandes avances del siglo XXI. El uso de la tecnología y de las redes socialespresenta grandes beneficios que las consolidan como una herramienta seductora para los másjóvenes. De ahí que, en la actualidad, Internet se haya convertido en la herramienta estrella para lacomunicación, búsqueda de información y ocio entre los jóvenes y adolescentes de todo el mundo.Pero unidas a estas características también podemos encontrar la cara opuesta de la moneda.Además de grandes virtudes, Internet, y más concretamente las redes sociales, también presentanimportantes riesgos que conllevan la generación de graves problemas. Entre estos destaca el usoabusivo o descontrolado que deriva en adicción, y que organismos internacionales están calificandocomo un problema grave de salud entre la población más joven.
