Abstract

Due to the need of introducing and integrating the province network into a Next Generation Network, as a solution to the deficiencies of its infrastructure, in this paper a proposal for a Next Generation Network for Granma province is done, based on its current conditions and considering the existence of the IP/ MPLS national backbone as transport. Firstly, the Next Generation Network model structure features, facilities and signaling protocols are analyzed. Secondly, a detailed analysis of the equipment proposed by the Huawei manufacturer is performed, evaluating the availability and potentials of this technology. Finally, elements that contribute to the migration of the current telecommunications network in Granma Province to a Next Generation Network are discussed.
